Fox10 TV and Beach Power Rentals

Wow... yesterday was a great day and I'm excited about the good things that are happening.

First, we had a terrific interview with the local Gulf Shores' newspaper, The Islander. They came out to conduct the interview, then we took the chairs to the beach for a demonstration. It was great and I look forward to reading the story in an upcoming issue.

Later in the day WALA Fox10TV from Mobile came out to shoot some video and conduct an interview. It was broadcast lastnight, Friday. Here's the link to the story - Sandy Beach Won't Stop Wheelchairs

I'm really happy that the news people are interested. Yes, it's good for BPR, but more importantly it helps get the message out to other people with limited mobility that there is an option and opportunity for them to
visit the beach. - Jerry

Gulf Shores' Inventor with ALS creates his own beach chair

Wheelchair built for beach provides "Beach Power"
Unless you know someone confined to a wheelchair many of us go through our day without much thought about mobility and access. Sure, we see the blue-lined parking spaces, ramps and elevators and the 3-wheeled carts at big box stores. And arenas have special areas set aside too.
Many accommodations have been made to improve access for these individuals.
Except at the beach.
Parks departments in cities have built ramps, but for most wheelchair jockeys their beach experience ends where the sand begins.
