SUMMER 2009 ALS NEWSLETTER
Earlier this summer, the Obermanns (Stuart, Marcia and Eric) from Huntsville, AL came to visit. We learned so much from them and really enjoyed their visit. We are hoping that they will return for an overnight visit.
The Obermanns are very involved with giving care to Eric and are very active in the Huntsville chapter of the ALS Association. Here is page two of the Summer 2009 ALS Newsletter written by Marcia Obermann.

Birthday at the Beach
This past Saturday, June 6 was a beautiful day in Gulf Shores and we had a special visitor to Beach Power Rentals - Matt G. from Jackson, Alabama.Matt's birthday (count 'em 24) request to go to the beach became the real deal for him.
After arriving with his friends from the Clarke County Adult Rehabilitation Center, we got a chair ready for Matt and he was off to the beach. Some friend's of his family were there too and hang out with him for a few hours.
Later, when he got back from the beach we all
had some cake and relaxed...it was a good day.

Jerry Nasello can't go for a beach walk. But he enjoys beach rides just as much.A few years after being diagnosed with ALS, he was confined to a wheelchair. but he still wanted to be out on the sand. So he created the Beach Chair. Click on photo to view story
